review – Yes, yes…I know what you’re going to say. “Bob, why do you need a fancy pill organizer when you can get a cheap pill organizer at the dollar store?” That’s fair enough. But mbarc 7-Day Pill Organizer promises to enhance the experience in a number of useful and practical ways. I have an idea. to the review!
What is it?
The mbarc 7-day pill organizer is a 7-day pill organizer with an oversized chamber to store all your pills, supplements, and more.
Hardware Specifications
- 6″ by 1″ by 1.75″
- 4.5 oz
- Anodized aluminum housing
- Silicone seal
- Available in three colours: Metallic Silver, Midnight Black or Steel Grey
Design and Features
If you’re looking for accessories to match your high-tech look, the mbarc 7-day pill organizer has it. The anodized aluminum case and modern design fit all your gadgets and gadgets. It measures 6″ x 1″ x 1.75″ (household teaspoon for size reference). I’m testing steel grey, but metallic silver and black versions are also available.
It also has solid wood inlays at the end caps and some extra bells and whistles. These arrows point you to the open side of the pill compartment so you don’t spill the cargo when you open the pill compartment.
One of the great things about the mbarc 7-Day Pill Organizer is that it can stand on its own. Ever stayed at one of the hotels where bathroom counter space is at a premium? The problem is solved here with a tight vertical footprint.
The mbarc 7-Day Pill Organizer features a silicone gasket to provide a tight seal. Those little handles on the lid help you pull it apart, making sure it doesn’t come loose accidentally during transport.
This all makes for a pill organizer that packs and travels well. You can toss it loosely in a suitcase or slip it into a pocket in your bag. The combination of seals and an anti-extrusion aluminum housing ensures that you don’t find a pill in your clothes when you arrive at your destination.
Remove the seal and slide the tray out to reveal 7 spacious compartments for a variety of medications and supplements. Note that the dates are marked in reverse order so you can slide it open on the day you want.
How big are these rooms? Here, I fill one of these with as many large Omega-3 supplements as I can handle. See coins for size reference. I got 5-6 before it was filled.
This is a more realistic travel setup. This is my typical daily load of vitamins, supplements, and daily allergy medication (just in case) every day. I have more space, or enough space to double up on longer trips.
I also like how the chamber slide-out configuration works. Don’t fiddle with cheap plastic buckles. You can open it up to your daily dose and dump the load to get what you need.
A downside to the mbarc 7-Day Pill Organizer design is really a matter of personal preference. If you like to organize your pills by daily use, you’ll love this setup. If you like to organize your pills by type (one type per chamber), I think you might find this setup less than ideal, since you have to open the entire container to find what you’re looking for.
what do I like
- Great build that will last a long time
- Great for travel – throw it anywhere in your kit without worrying about squeezing or accidentally spilling
- Oversized chamber accommodates pills of various sizes
Areas for improvement
- Best for daily dose use; a “one pill per compartment” approach can result in accidental spills when you’re trying to get your hands on the goods
final thoughts
Do pill organizers really need to be stylish? maybe not. But I think style is a secondary advantage of the mbarc 7-Day Pill Organizer. This little guy is a reliable, safe travel companion and, in my opinion, reduces one of the concerns you need to worry about while traveling. However, it’s $30 and there are plenty of other options on the market for this type of thing. If you don’t travel a lot, you may not see the benefit. If you travel a lot, I think you’ll appreciate the benefits of long-term use and will enjoy having it as part of your travel gear.
