Members of the school board claim that children will “commit murder” without wearing masks at school – RedState

If there is a story that makes you happy to know that parents all over the country are running towards eliminate Members of the leftist school board, that’s it. A local school board member in Oklahoma suggested that students who did not wear a mask in class might commit murder for not wearing a mask.

At the Monday meeting, Linda Sexton, a member of the Norman Public Schools Board of Trustees, said:

It is impossible for children to come to school to kill without wearing a mask.

Sexton went on to say that children who think that they don’t wear masks “will cause the death of another child because they don’t wear a mask when they go to school.”

Fox News Report:

Sexton called on her area and others to stand up against Governor Kevin Stitt, who reportedly refused to allow school children to wear masks. In May, he passed a law prohibiting school districts from enforcing tasks unless the governor at least declares a state of emergency in the area.

The school board member asserted that she “want to try to find a way to stand up as a district” and enlist the support of “surrounding managers” to oppose Stitt’s instructions. She asserted, “It’s crazy to let 5-, 6-, 7-, and 8-year-old children until they are 11 years old and they have no choice over vaccines.”

Governor Stitt defended his order, stating that “this is about personal responsibility.” Although parents can let their children wear masks and get vaccinated, the legislation does not allow local governments to force people to take these measures.

The mandatory mask requirements and vaccine issues of K-12 schools have been the focus of debate, especially after the appearance of the Delta variant. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated a copy on Monday Report Acknowledging that “teenagers can spread SARS-CoV-2 to others.” However, the report also pointed out that “compared with adults, children and adolescents infected with SARS-CoV-2 are more often asymptomatic.”

This means that children are less likely to develop symptoms than adults. Three studies Research conducted at the end of last year also found that the risk of COVID-19 spreading in schools is small.

There is nothing wrong with hoping to take certain precautions to ensure the safety of children. However, as Sexton claims, the idea that a child might commit a “murder” is alarmist nonsense. There is no evidence that this is a real risk, or that cover-up will prevent transmission from happening. If the school takes this issue seriously, then we will not see these “murders” happen. Unfortunately, there are still too many people who want to use fear to control our behavior.
