My blog is on holiday until Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Today, play some light music. wish all the best.

Music – George Benson Before He Thinks He Can Sing

Here’s what I’ve been listening to this morning at work.

This is Boxing Day music, when one has a publication deadline (tomorrow) and wants calm inspiration.

I was clearing out a cupboard the other day where a large number of records are stored, and the record collection is like a memory storage center.

As I flipped through the album covers, I recalled many things that happened at different times—some that took me back to the 1960s when I first started buying records.

This song is from one of my favorite albums – white rabbit – from – george benson – It was released in early 1972 and I snapped it up at a local import store in Melbourne later that year.

It is released by CTI Records, a label that has refined taste in the musicians it promotes.

In that period George Benson still played a lot and sang very little – the better choice in my opinion.

This song – the sea – Written by George Benson.

It is characterized by– Earl of Clew – Debuted at age 17. Of course, he’s a great player in his own right.

Critics considered it a transitional album, between George Benson’s mainstream era and his entry into popular music in the 1970s.

It was a period of jazz fusion, and the players on the album reflect that.

Vocals are from Brazilian percussionists – Elto Moreira – he became a key part of the jazz fusion era when he collaborated with – back to forever.

Who is the player:

1. george benson – Guitar.

2. Billy Cobham – drum.

3. ron carter – double bass.

4. Herbie Hancock – Piano (Rhodes).

5. Jay Berliner – Spanish guitar.

6. Earl of Clew – Nylon string guitar.

7. Phil Claus – atmosphere.

8. Airto Moreira – percussion, vocals.

9. Glory Augustine – Harp.

Plus many woodwind and brass players.

Nice little ensemble!

Good working music.

Enough for today!
