Review – The jury still doesn’t know why Apple’s AirTags needs an accessory to connect to anything, but it does create opportunities for accessory companies there. There are plenty of silicone and leather brackets, but Nomad’s leather ring is different, simple and very safe. Let’s take a closer look.

Design and features
Nomad is famous for using Horween leather, and AirTag’s leather ring is no exception. It is available in three different colors: Rustic brown Either Black, Both come with a black PVD coated key ring, and Gifted person It has a silver key ring.
Loop is different from most AirTag holders in the connection method. It uses a high-strength 3M adhesive to adhere to both sides of the AirTag.

Performance
Like Nomad’s other leather products, it will show some battle scars and develop its own patina over time. In my opinion, it will acquire personality as you use it. It is part of the natural beauty of leather. In the case of the leather ring here, there is not a lot of real estate, but all of them will come into contact with your pockets, keys, and anything else, so you will definitely see some wear and tear.
We placed two leather rings on the two sets of car keys and used them for a full month. Considering that we work from home and install smart locks on the house, they are the only keys we actively use. Although we have the necessary key hooks at the front door, the keys are usually placed in wallets, jacket pockets, or on a completely different floor, so putting Airtag on them is very helpful. These look very nice to hang on the key and certainly help.
As you can see here, they are very low-key. I am using a small second ring so that the loop can lie flat on the car keychain in the pocket, but also because someone at Volkswagen decided that the keyring slot should be thinner and the keyring stuck at the narrow end.
If you are running a few ordinary keys, you will find that they are 90º with AirTag and Loop, which may be almost as polarized as the classic, for example… the jacket pocket should be pulled up or down to close, or every Personal favorite debate starter, how to put toilet paper on the holder.
I have to say that I really like that the periphery of the AirTag is visible, rather than the center that is common in the widely used AirTag holders.

Final thoughts
Although it’s silly to need another accessory for the $29 AirTag, that’s how we are. There are other options, such as Tile and Chipolo, but if you buy the Apple version, you will need a stand. Nomad’s Leather Loop option is cheaper than Apple’s version and looks cleaner in my opinion. If you buy three, they will even give you the fourth one for free, if you buy 4 packs of AirTags, this can work well.
