review – I haven’t used a big wallet in years. If it doesn’t fit in my pocket, then it’s not for me. I keep experimenting with minimalist wallets to find what works best for me. The latest wallet in my pocket is the Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini Wallet. Let’s take a closer look.
What is it?
Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini is a handcrafted wallet Made from a piece of leather, folded and stitched to create a wallet almost the size of a credit card.
One cool thing is that Open Sea Leather is run by an active duty sailor in the US Navy.
Design and Features

The Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini Wallet is available in 19 leather and 19 thread colors. I like to see how the unfinished leather develops its patina over time, so I chose the green thread because green is one of my favorite colors.

The raw leather has a slight sheen and is very smooth. Zero defects.

Bold/heavy stitching doubles as a decorative element. Another decorative element is the Open Sea leather logo on the front of the wallet. I don’t usually like branding, but I like that they have the paddle and feather logo.

The Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini Wallet features a flap that tucks into a diagonal pocket on the front of the wallet. The special design of this all-in-one folding wallet gives you two card and cash slots.

Let’s see how 5 regular-sized plastic credit cards and 3 folded bills fit in this minimalist wallet.

In the picture above, you can see that I have a stack of credit cards in the main pocket and the folded box in the front, not too much stuffed. I found that even adding a 6th card and 1-2 more bills while still being able to delete stuff.

This is what the Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini Wallet looks like with the flap in place.
The Topsider Mini wallet is still thin enough to be carried in a men’s front pocket. I like to keep mine in my jacket pocket, and if I’m carrying a bag, I like to keep it in a bag.
what do I like

final thoughts

Answering the question in the title of this review, yes, the Open Sea Leather Topsider Mini Wallet has become one of my favorite minimalist wallets. I love leather goods and I’ve even dabbled in making my own magazine covers out of leather, so I can totally appreciate the craftsmanship of this wallet. Stitching inspires me to be my own perfection. I can’t wait to see how this wallet changes over time. Right now it looks brand new with no blemishes, but I’ll be updating it in a few months to show how (or not) it has developed more character and shine. Until then, if you’re looking for a simple yet elegant wallet, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the Open Sea Leather Wallet.
