Polish Prime Minister Mateus Morawiecki stated on Thursday (November 18) that if Germany wants to work for peace, it should stop the Beixi 2 natural gas pipeline from Russia to Europe and combine the project with His country is linked to the handling of immigration issues at the Belarusian border.

In an interview with Germany’s best-selling photo daily, Morawiecki said he was worried that the situation at the border between the European Union and Belarus would escalate and thousands of immigrants would be trapped there.

“We are defending the EU border in Poland! Speaking of the bigger picture, let us work together for peace instead of paying (Russian President) Vladimir Putin extra money through energy so that he can continue to upgrade,” Mo Lavitsky told Bild.

This means the suspension of the new natural gas pipeline from Russia. “Beixi 2 must be stopped,” he said.

In order to resolve the man-made border crisis in Minsk, the European Union calls on Russia to let Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko end the crisis.

Moscow denies any direct role, but has offered mediation and also demonstrated its support for Lukashenko through joint military exercises with Belarus near the border.

However, Poland and Ukraine strongly oppose the Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany, believing that this increases Europe’s dependence on Russia’s natural gas and jeopardizes Ukraine’s valuable transit fees.

Morawiecki warned that if Europe cannot solve the problem of population gathering, Europe will face a new immigration crisis, and although the situation is stable, it is becoming more and more threatening.
