Page Changer: Anton Palzer’s Spain Tour
Picture: Rose
Anton Palzer is one of the best ski mountaineers in the world and is now riding with Vuelta as a professional cyclist: boundary experiences, painful transitions-and why the consequences of mistakes in climbing are so great many.
Mr. Palzer, before you signed a professional cyclist contract with the Bora-hansgrohe team, you were one of the best ski mountaineers in the world. Now, in five months, you will start your journey around Spain lock up. Is there a time when you curse to switch to a bicycle?
Of course, there will always be times when you will ask yourself what you are actually doing. I fell and lost a lot of skin on the sixth day, which is not the best choice. The past few days have been very difficult, especially on Sunday. If you are in pain and there is a stage 190 kilometers and 4700 meters above sea level in front of you, it will be very difficult. From a mental and physical point of view, this is a kind of fringe experience to a certain extent, and it is definitely not a children’s carnival. Every day I live is the motivation for the next. But in general, I am very satisfied with the status quo.
