Review – I often measure things in my workshop. I have been using the plastic calipers from the dime store for decades, but only to enter the stadium. It is getting harder and harder for my eyes to read the small ruler. Maybe Qfun 6-inch LCD digital caliper will accompany me to find home!
What is it?
The Qfun 6-inch digital caliper has a measuring range of up to 6 inches (150 mm), and the specified resolution is 0.0005 inches/0.01 mm. It is metal instead of plastic, and is powered by a button battery.

Design and features
If you look around Amazon, you will find dozens of similar-looking models. The highlight of Qfun 6-inch digital calipers is the use of 3V CR2032 lithium batteries instead of the smaller LR44. The LCD display looks slightly larger than the average.
set up
The box provides clues about the origin of these Amazon calipers. There are many, many unused cuts. I found that the hole in the lower right corner fits well with the spare CR2032 battery that comes with it. At least they thought of it!
You don’t have to install a battery: it comes with one pre-installed! This is how it looks after removing the battery cover.
Performance
The LCD display of Qfun’s 6-inch digital caliper is very suitable for my aging eyes. There are three buttons: on/off, reset and mm/inch. I noticed zero travel or tactile feedback for the mm/inch button. You can press it to switch between units, but you will not hear or feel a click. Click the other buttons to be satisfied.
Compared with other calipers I own, Qfun 6-inch digital calipers actually slide smoothly without any resistance. OK!
The design allows you to make internal measurements (top), external (middle) and depth (using “pins”, bottom).
I don’t have any calibration length, but I think there is no reason why the caliper is inaccurate. However, if your work relies on absolute precision, you should take the time to see how high these precisions are.
There is an unexplainable gasket and adhesive in my box. I have no explanation for this.
Let me figure out what’s wrong with the unit button by myself. I found that one of the three surface mount momentary switches was malfunctioning (red circle).
what do I like
- Glide smoothly
- Big numbers
- Equipped with a spare battery
What will i change
- Consistency of button quality
Final thoughts
The Qfun 6-inch digital caliper feels like a unit of quality, but the bad feel of one of the buttons is a bit disappointing. If the buttons are good and clickable, I might buy more of these around the house.
