For those who do not want to be white supremacists, please be happy for a new way of moral improvement.
A report from the University of California, Davis provides you with the next step on the ladder of non-racist rule.
Privileged people, I’m talking about the way you treat them fish.
Specifically, you will get into trouble because of the violence in your words.
According to a Fisheries Magazine Publishing Report – Say goodbye to “crude fish”: paradigm shift in local fish protection -There are many racist patriarchy gill gall:
In the United States, the views of white men overwhelmingly dominate fishery science and management.
The despised and scaly person cannot define himself. Although they do not understand language, they are “alienated” by English.
Fish also have feelings, we are “rude”:
[White dominance] Take the prejudice against “rough fish” as an example-this is a derogatory meaning that reduces the value of countless local fish to zero.
Nautical naming is sad:
Sadly, fishermen and resource management agencies continue to [the term’s] use.
See hate speech:
Related derogatory terms include “junk fish”, “dirty fish”, “other fish”, “crude fish”…
Also used-the most despicable of all abuses, U word:
“Underutilized Fish”
In addition to being overly insulted, local fish are not fully protected.
This is suspicious: native species “provide critical ecosystem services” and “many” “live long and are vulnerable to overfishing.”
Therefore, the author “encourages institutions to re-examine their policies regarding local fish species and provide suggestions for the development of more comprehensive, protective and inclusive protection policies.”
Because, sadly, scientists did not celebrate diversity:
A product [the] The prejudice is that for more than a century, biologists have been opposed to protecting many species of fish…
Your worst nightmare has come true-“These problems still exist today.”
Racist fish management has already brought some skin shadows to sea:
[W]In the past 100 years, there have been major changes in attitudes and regulations towards (preferred) species, but the policies for many local fish have not changed. [Less fancied] The species is always used as food fish to maintain fisheries, but it is usually used for underrepresented groups such as blacks and indigenous people of color and immigrants. The term “crude fish” is an example of this problem. This is a derogatory term that confuses various fish species with life history strategies that are considered to have low to zero value.
Again, those oppressors with harmful pigments:
Historically, white males only valued selected species and dominated the management of North American freshwater fisheries.
This is the marginalization of the size of the marlin:
The experience of North American sovereign tribes provides conclusive evidence for the effectiveness of the universal fish management paradigm. For example, the Ojibwe people in Wisconsin have lived with whites for 3 centuries and have been subject to their fish management system for about half of the time. In the 1970s and 1980s, mainly lawsuits between the state government and the six tribes of Ojibwe regarding hunting and fishing rights under the treaty led to joint management of non-indigenous sport anglers and species of most interest to indigenous people. The so-called “sashimi” did not become the subject of negotiations because they were belittled by many people. However, they have always been respected in the Ojibwe community.
Suction cup:
In fact, Namebini-giizis named February “Sucker Moon” because the noble sucker fish sacrificed his life to feed the Ojibwe people. However, during negotiations with the state, one of the members of the Ojibwe community was teased for allegedly favoring suckers.
Part of the author of the study is Dr. Andrew L. Rypel.
say University of California Davis, He waxed the evil beluga whale:
“When you trace the history of the problem, you quickly realize that this is because the field is shaped by white people and does not include other perspectives. Sometimes you have to look at this history honestly to figure out what to do. “
As for calling the local fish “rough”, Andrew’s End here:
“This matter has bothered me for a long time.”
Andrew should be ecstatic—the fish have recently bathed in the ocean of love.

Back to the report, how do we correct our racism?
University of California Davis Take note of the study’s six recommendations for a better world:
- Incorporate indigenous perspectives into fisheries management.
- Re-examine the species bag restriction. Lower the bagging restrictions for native species until scientific research is conducted to confirm that they may be higher. The study paid special attention to the fast-growing archerfish market, which helped to remove native species.
- Support the science of local fish. In the Journal of the American Fisheries Association, hunting fish has received 11 times as much research and management attention as “crude fish”. To understand the true value of local fish, more research is needed.
- Co-manage co-evolving species, such as freshwater mussels and the fish that carry them.
- Correct misinformation and strengthen science education through outreach and education for all ages.
And, perhaps, the most important:
- Stop talking about “rough fish”. [The authors] It is recommended to use “local fish” as an easy choice.
Congratulations to the researchers and their gentleness towards aquatic life.
Of course, organisms with complex plankton would be very grateful for not being labeled as “underutilized”.
What is perplexing is that-as the report explains-there is nothing wrong with them being called “fools”.
Regarding sucking, the chivalrous defenses of our swimming brothers and sisters are very good.
But to be clear, not everyone in the ocean is great.
In fact-as we learned last June-some fish are absolute pain points:
