Looking back-we just sounded the wake-up call in 2022, and I think we all know what it means: a determination to lose weight in the New Year! But what if I just make a better choice during the holidays? Only cold reality can make me do this, and one day it will appear at my door in the form of Sportneer Smart Scale. This interesting technology may give you more information about your body and its composition than you would like to know.
What is it?
Sportneer Smart Scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis and eight sensors to generate detailed health reports. It will measure water, protein levels, bone mass, body fat, skeletal muscle, muscle mass, body weight, BMI, BMR, metabolic age, subcutaneous fat, fat-free body mass, visceral fat and lean body mass measurements. Together with the app, it will store your personal data and provide you with exercise recommendations from the video library based on your personal results.

Installation and features
The Sportneer smart scale is easy to set up. I charge it when I download and register the app. When I was ready to face the aftermath of Thanksgiving, I opened the app and entered my birthday, height, and other information needed to calculate your BMI. I stepped on the scale and grabbed the handle-but it didn’t work. I received an error message. I did it a few more times, and then I did what everyone did—I looked at the direction. I should probably do this first, but hey, this is a scale… I guess how different is this from any other scale I’ve ever used?

Well, it turns out that if you have a pacemaker or metal in your body, this scale may not work, which is why I received the error message. This makes sense, because they will get all the data by sending you a small charge that cannot be detected. However, it would be nice to know this before I order the scale. I browsed the Sportneer website to make sure I didn’t miss the information, but I didn’t find it.

My son has neither a pacemaker nor metal on his body, so I forced him to try the scale in the name of review, and it worked very well. He is not excited about me posting his photos or sharing his information, but as long as I don’t use his face in the photos, he agrees to help me. The result surprised me because he looked healthy. I knew he played basketball every day, but the data on the scale showed that his BMI was a bit high and his fat content just exceeded the standard. The data is very detailed. According to Sportneer, the probability of error is less than 2%, which usually only exists in professional health and fitness equipment. Later, I realized that I guessed his height wrong, which might affect the results.

I have provided many screenshots so that you can see the depth of information available through the app. You can really fall into the rabbit hole of analysis! You can also generate a printable report of all the data, if you use it in a health club environment, I think this would be great.

The scale also includes a video library with suggested exercises based on data to help you where you need it. The animation sequence shows how to exercise and what the target muscles are. It also tracks your data and records your activities so that you can see what has been done. I think exercise advice is a good reward.

The app also allows you to add an unlimited number of personal data through the app so that you can track and manage many family members and even the entire fitness room. I think if more than one person in my family uses this scale, I would rather use a tablet or an old mobile phone that is no longer in use. These phones can be dedicated to the scale. This way, if other family members want to view their results, they don’t need to access my phone.

I think one thing they can improve is the handle and rope. There is no way to store or make the handle and rope look better or disappear. Just sitting on the scale looks sloppy, I think it might even be a danger of tripping. I think it would be better if the rope and handle were stretchable in some way or could be stored in some way. The handle is only needed when you are processing the complete data set, so you can put it in a cabinet or drawer until you are ready to use it. By default, scales without handles will give you the total weight in kilograms (you can change the unit of measurement in the app).
According to the website, the Sportneer Smart Scale can be charged via USB-C and can be used for up to two months without charging.
what do I like
- The breadth and depth of the data.
- Exercise recommendations.
What will i change
- Ropes and handles need a place to live.
- When purchasing, specify who can and cannot use this item more clearly.
Final thoughts
Sportneer Smart Scale is a very neat weight scale, and I think its price is reasonable. I just hope I can use it!
