information – Originally scheduled for CES earlier this year, SUPER73 held its 2022 launch event in Los Angeles on March 15. They’re best known for the big-tire, electric version of the Taco mini bike that seemed to be ubiquitous in California back in the ’60s and ’70s. Originally released on Kickstarter and continuously updated and improved, this release updates their current product line and expands to include a kid-friendly model and requires a driver’s license. Let’s see what happened to them.

Ahead of the event, SUPER73’s product line was split into three, including…
– High-end R-series full-suspension bike with maximum specs
– S-series with rigid and front suspension mid-range models
– and the lower-cost Z-Series, which are just as fun to ride.
The event started off with a nightclub vibe, with plenty of music, and as everyone invited started to arrive, I think we ended up overtaking the staff, but just barely. The place is decked out with lights, lasers, and all the updates from the three collections we’re all familiar with. In front of the stage and on the podium to the left, there are two black tents hiding new products.
Walking around the room, there are so many good things about electric motorcycles to get lost in. For the uninitiated, part of the appeal of the SUPER73 bike is its possible customization and personalization. Take these two Z-Series models, you have to pass by to get into the room.
The rest of the room has a whole wall of accessories, including tires, handlebars, saddles, racks, moor panels in the cavernous void in the frame, if you pay attention, there are some colorful little accessories on the center right as well as the ones that don’t Small tires don’t match any of their current lineups.
The clothing in the entire collection is in shade, and it’s hard to really see the color, but all the looks look good and fit the overall theme.
and new eFTR Rogue 1.2 Model This is a partnership with Indian Motorcycle Dealers and is only available at Indian Motorcycle Dealers. The classic black and red scheme and long, comfortable saddle are just begging to be ridden.
Also, the room is full of newer models, although you’ll need to keep an eye on SUPER73 to know they’re 2022 models. It’s more of a nightclub vibe than the bike itself. Overall, colors, tires, handlebars and seats have been updated with each collection. The Z-Miami has a lower seat for improved compatibility, a new aluminum frame and more range.
By then, the countdown clock had appeared on the screen above the stage and the audience was ready as SUPER73 CEO Legrand Crewse was introduced to walk us through the day’s update. He walked fast as if he really wanted to show other products. He did, but please bear with me for a while. This is an update to an existing line.

There happened to be a child who really wanted to step on it. I’ll tell you though, if I was that young, I’d probably cry after being told I couldn’t touch them.But let’s zoom in bike A little bit.
These are indeed miniature versions of the SUPER73 we know and love. They’re only missing two things; pedals, a cooler name than the youth series.
I’m sure you’ve all seen Fred Flinstone’s little step bike where kids can learn to ride. It’s an amazing thing to see the confidence to be able to put your feet down at all times. Well, this is an electrified version of the concept. It’s aimed at 4-9 years old, although I’m guessing 4-7 years old is more accurate since they do seem small. You can see platforms in place of pedals for cruising in comfort. These can later be swapped out for pegs for aggressive riders.
They’ve done some cool things with the color coding, both from the safety side and from the visual cues, and the right-hand throttle is bright red to show that it’s more than just the grip you’re holding.
There’s a brake lever on the left, so there’s no need to learn how to throttle and brake with your right. They also sell colored handles to swap out, but those are matching blue/blue etc, which contradicts the visual safety message. Maybe they’re thinking that once you get used to riding, you don’t need it? I think any kid with one of these will be constantly pestered by friends to try, so keeping the correct grips red would be a great option. As for the colors, they come in four bold colors, all with great rubber-walled tires.
Well, the announcement went well because everyone was already salivating over the motorcycle we knew was coming. That’s when Legrand dropped the SUPER73-C1x.

It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it’s important to know that this is a downsized motorcycle (about 25% smaller than typical). Their website actually has a small interactive section that lets you adjust the slider based on height so you can get a point of reference. Here’s a 6-foot-3 shadow me that looks like I’m standing next to the C1X.

A key feature is that the motor is mounted on the swingarm behind the pivot. This means the chain is under constant, consistent tension regardless of swingarm movement. This means fewer moving parts, less wear and strain, and no unexpected behavior.
It will be fully street-legal, meaning it will have turn signals, headlights, and will go through all the necessary approval processes, so specs and features are subject to change. Two colors were teased, but a lot could change before the bike launches, which will take at least a full year. If that puts the throttle in your imagination, you can now reserve a spot in the queue for just $73.
All in all, it was an eventful day with lots of two-wheel gadgets. All the info you need can be found on their website, with the exception of the teased Youth Series and C1X, each of which only shows the info they share, so far away.
