Five years ago, I looked back Volt connection, at the time my impression was complicated, it was big and heavy. While I can see its potential for commuting, I guess it’s hard for me to separate my fitness-focused lifestyle from the practicality of the electric bile.
I recently reviewed Foldable ADO A20 I’m reviewing the ADO D30C and I’ve become an electric bike convert.
Even recently, rising fuel costs have made driving increasingly unaffordable for many. If this crisis becomes a long-term problem, I think we may see hordes of people looking for alternative modes of transportation, and e-bikes are the most logical solution for anyone commuting a few miles.
Electric bicycles and electric scooters
In my opinion e-bikes are a very superior solution electric scooter This has become more common in recent years.
The main reason is that they are road legal. This is the only argument that needs to be said. However, the range is better and you can go faster with the help of touts. You’ll also get the right amount of exercise.
Scooters are still attractive, they are considerably cheaper, smaller and lighter. You can easily take them on public transport for a last-mile commute, but there are obvious risks to the police. My place was confiscated, so the police didn’t completely ignore the issue. I doubt if you’re sensible, you won’t have too many problems.
The best foldable electric bikes on Amazon
I might write some guides on e-bikes, but for now, I’m going to stick with the options on Amazon, and for this post, I’m just doing foldable bikes.
Foldable bikes are great for short commutes, when you need to take public transportation, or when storage space at home is limited. They also fit easily into the trunk of a car, but it’s worth noting that they’re fairly heavy.
If you Google the best electric bikes, you’ll get recommendations for brands like Specialized, Brompton, and Vanmoof. All of these would be amazing bikes and probably the best long-term investment, but they all cost around £2000 or more. I’m assuming the average driver who wants to cut gas bills doesn’t want to spend that much.

A generation Standard ADO A20 reviewed I can personally vouch for it. The A20+ has some useful extras, including a new G-Drive controller
It has a range of 18-23 miles in electric-only mode and 45-48 miles in pedal mode.
At 24kg, it’s quite heavy, and it doesn’t have a piggyback, but you can buy one.

This can be used for assisted riding or all-electric. With all-electric you can get around 45km of range. This comes with a piggyback. 22.5kg is quite heavy, but many e-bikes weigh more than 20kg.

This lacks the front display and is just a button controller. A big plus is that the included piggyback can also carry batteries, so you should be able to carry a lot with you.

This is an affordable foldable bike that looks very small. It has good reviews but also quite a few 1 star reviews.Range is limited to 15 miles and speed is 15 mph, but they also state a top speed of 20-25 km/h
Its small size makes it very lightweight for an e-bike, which is a great option for short commutes and/or anyone who needs to take the bike on public transport.

It has a 48V 250W motor with a maximum speed of 25kph/15.5mph and it has a throttle for full electric mode. It doesn’t say auxiliary gears, but I’m assuming 3 is ok, then you also have a 7-speed Shimano gearset. This also includes a piggyback and LCD display for odometer and auxiliary data.
25kg is heavy and £70 shipping is disappointing.
