Review – You might think that sound quality will be the decisive factor when choosing a completely wireless headset. Maybe not. There are also comfort, call quality, ease of use, brand prestige, and of course price. Generally, you can list any five of the six. For example, if you choose sound, comfort, call quality, ease of use, and a well-known brand, then you will pay the price (Hello, Apple AirPods Pro). Lower the price and you will have to lose one of the other factors. Now, if you are willing to give up the overpriced fruity logo, there may be a pair of almost perfect earplugs-TCL MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earplugs.
What is it?
The price of TCL MOVEAUDIO S600 True Wireless Earbuds is comparable to Apple’s AirPods Pro earbuds, although they look more similar to Apple’s regular AirPods. That long stem is now a recognized appearance, and no one makes fun of it anymore.
S600 earplugs come in only two colors: pearl white or super matte black-grayer than black.
The downloadable Android/iOS app can be used to customize the left/right capacitive touch settings of the earbuds, check battery life and wear detection. Currently, there is no graphic equalizer function available.
S600 earbuds have active noise cancellation (ANC), 8 hours of play time before charging, transparent mode, IP54 sweat and splash resistance, touch control, 3 microphones per earbud (for call and transparent mode), and wireless charging. One hundred dollars is not bad!

Design and features
You might think that TCL is an affordable TV manufacturer known for its excellent picture quality. According to records, TCL also produces air quality equipment, vacuum cleaners, smartphones… and audio equipment.
Many technology companies are “making audio”, but usually, they are not doing so well. TCL is an exception—somewhat. I would not call them audiophiles, but I would also not call them Apple audiophiles. However, I Love Apple’s AirPods Pro headset. Why? convenient. So far, Apple’s headphones are the easiest to use headphones I have ever owned. When I eject them, they will appear. When I received the call, they immediately connected. They just Work.
However, I am a full member of Apple Borg. All of my Apple technologies are connected and work seamlessly. Most people are not in my camp, so I know that many people don’t always get the seamless experience of AirPods Pro headphones or other Apple products. In addition, not everyone is willing to pay Apple tax—the premium required to join Borg.
For non-Apple (and some Apple) people, TCL has covered you.Their MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earbuds are not only similar in performance and performance to Apple, but also in price a lot of less. Spoiler alert: The quality and convenience of S600 earplugs are about 85% of Apple’s, and the price is less than half of Apple’s.
Let’s start with the appearance. S600s are shiny-just like shining. In fact, when you open the bean-shaped shell, you will see two shiny earplugs surrounded by a mirror base. Its bling is not excessive. The lid opens and closes purposefully, but doing so requires two hands. Opening it with one hand is a bit too big and too slippery-at least for me. Although the box may be large, it can still fit easily into the front pocket.
The earplugs are magnetically snapped into the housing. In fact, they are so good that I sometimes find it difficult to extract them because they are too smooth. At least they won’t pop out of the case when dropped accidentally-just like my AirPods Pro earphones always Do.
The S600 earbuds face outwards in the case, which means they look a bit upside down when placed in the case. When I pull them out or put them back into the housing, I have to rotate them by hand before inserting them in the ears. I have thrown them away countless times-again because they are so smooth. However, once they enter my ears, they will stay there.
S600s is very light and fits perfectly (with large earplugs). I can wear them for the entire 8 hours of battery life without discomfort-which is rare for headphones. Of course, every ear is different, so YMMV.
The S600 earbuds have many features that are usually only found on more expensive headphones. Let’s take a look at them:
Google Quick Match – Think of it as the H1 chip on AirPods Pro earphones. The initial Bluetooth pairing is instant, and the earbuds will work immediately when the case is opened. Unfortunately, I did not test this feature because I have an iPhone.
Google Voice Assistant – Although I think an Android phone will handle this feature better, I did make it work on my iPhone—as long as the Google Assistant app is open. Even so, I seem to be unable to grasp the timing of responding to verbal commands. Although I don’t like it, Apple’s Siri is smoother than Google Assistant on my iPhone. However, if you have an Android phone, you don’t need to use your brain. You can press and hold the left earbud during a call to ask about the weather, road conditions, call and calendar reminders.
Now for iPhone (and Android) users-good things:
Hybrid ANC with transparency – When using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), the world and all its noise will disappear. S600s has a very good active noise reduction — little impact on audio quality. Please note that ANC will significantly reduce battery life. When we are trying to stay safe in a noisy world, transparent mode is a feature that becomes necessary. Its 6 microphones (3 for each earbud) allow all external noise to be filtered into the earbuds. Using Transparency mode, you can understand your surroundings and talk to others without taking off your earplugs-even though I think talking to someone with headphones on, even if you can clearly hear their voice, it seems a bit rude.
Battery Life – The battery specifications of the TCL MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earbuds are 6-8 hours for the earbuds and 24-32 hours for the case. You can get 3 full charges from this case before you need to recharge. I have never completely exhausted the battery case, but the life of the earbuds itself is as long as TCL claims. The case can also be charged wirelessly—another feature usually found on more expensive earplugs. I mostly ignore wireless charging. I always prefer wired standard charging. Wired charging is also faster.
Echo noise reduction – This allows you to use the 3 aforementioned microphones in each earbud to talk and hear the caller’s voice more clearly. It can reduce the background noise during your conversation and make it easier for both parties to understand. The person I was talking to could not tell that I was speaking through earplugs instead of directly into the phone. Every headset should be able to sound so good in a call, but unfortunately, most of them don’t.
Touch sensor -Control S600s by tapping and tapping/holding each earbud. These controls can be customized using the TCL Connect app (iOS and Android). I set the Google Assistant preferences on the left earbud, but soon changed it to the ANC/Transparency switch setting. I am not a voice assistant user.
Sweat and splash proof – 600S earplugs are IP54 resistant to sweat, splash and dust. You can exercise or get in the rain as you like, without worrying about moisture destroying them. I have used these earplugs when mowing grass in a hot and humid yard in Florida during the summer.Sweat proof with ANC can ensure my hearing safety when using power tools.
As I said before, TCL S600 earplugs are not audiophile’s quality, but it’s no big deal. They sound good, with plenty of bass, making the music sound rich and warm-although it lacks the clarity of more expensive headphones. In addition, there are no harsh sounds at higher frequencies-this is always a good thing. Most importantly, the audio quality is acceptable-especially in this price range. A major advantage of AirPods Pro headphones is Spatial Audio, which is a unique feature added through a firmware update. But keep in mind that the cost of AirPods Pros exceeds double What is the price of S600.
what do I like
- comfortable
- Economical
- Wireless charging
- ANC implemented well
- Suitable for sweating exercise
- Transparent mode
- Google Assistant
What will i change
- The earplugs are a bit too smooth to hold firmly
- There is no such thing as spatial audio
Final thoughts
I like AppleAirPods Pro earphones, which is no secret to my friends. I use them every day. However, their prices are no secret. TCL did what they did to the TV market for audio-they created a product that competes with the best products at the most affordable price. When my AirPods Pro earphones need to be replaced, as long as the TCL MOVEAUDIO S600 true wireless earphones exist, it is difficult for me to replace them with new Apple AirPods.
