The only determined winner in Biden’s “competition” executive order? Anti-competitive technology – RedState

A lot has been said and written about President Joe Biden’s executive order on Friday.

Biden believes that he can change policies through unilateral actions imposed by decree-affecting most of our country’s economy and life-and this is a lot of government problems.

The Biden administration called it a “competition order.”

Executive Order Concerning the Promotion of U.S. Economic Competition

The media certainly supports Biden’s word game.

Biden’s Executive Order on Competition: A Brief Overview:

“Biden’s order includes 72 actions aimed at targeting very specific practices that the White House hopes to change.”

Biden executive order forces big companies to reform

Some of these unilateral requirements are highly detailed. (Force Apple to allow non-Apple iPhone repairs?) Maybe Congress should be involved-you know, draft legislation. Instead of what we have now-a crazy man issues instructions.

This is where the media narrative goes completely off track.

Biden will sign executive orders against large technology companies

Biden signed a comprehensive executive order for large technology companies to promote competition in the U.S. economy

Biden’s new executive order aimed at large technology companies to eliminate anti-competitive behavior

In fact, Big Tech is the only guaranteed winner in Biden’s order.

Orders “for large technology companies” are no problem. But the negative effect is Vague at best:

“The order also expands Biden’s attacks on large technology companies such as Amazon and Facebook. It has established an administration-wide policy to more rigorously review mergers, including completed mergers. It focuses on involving new competitors. Critics of the so-called “killer acquisitions” claimed that Facebook was involved in such transactions when it acquired Instagram and WhatsApp.

“It targets a key business model in Silicon Valley: collecting and using large amounts of consumer data, and incentivizing technology companies with multiple business lines to cross-promote their services at the expense of competition.”

But these parts are very vague-Biden believes that many bureaucracies are enforcing them, and he has not nominated people to serve on these parts. Even if these positions are full, there is not much meat in these parts of the executive order skeleton.

You will notice that Biden is not mentioned at all P. 230. Article 230 of the 1996 Communications Standards Act is the largest government nepotism gift in the history of government cronyism. It protects large technology companies from… basically anyone’s lawsuit for anything.

Article 230 is the only reason technology giants have become these huge anti-competitive monsters.

How did big technology become so huge?Large-scale government nepotism-like Article 230

Article 230 How to anti-competitive

Biden did not even mention Article 230 in his “competition order.” Ok……

In fact, in May, Biden introduced an executive order that actually helped support Article 230.

Biden revokes Trump executive order against Section 230:

“Trump’s order is called’prevent online censorship.’ If companies such as Twitter, Google, and Facebook are found to have violated users’ speech by deleting or otherwise modifying users’ posts, they will allow federal authorities to hold them accountable.”

In Friday’s “competition order”, the only clear policy requirement Is a great gift to large technology companies:

“It… calls on the (Federal Communications Commission) FCC to restore the agency’s net neutrality rules for broadband companies, prohibiting them from selectively blocking, slowing down, or speeding up websites. These rules, which were approved during the Obama administration, are under Trump The FCC has been cut. Restoring the rules may trigger another court battle on this matter.”

Why does it “trigger another court battle”? Because Congress has never enacted a law to authorize the FCC to implement net neutrality. But why would this stop the Biden administration?

But first…

Biden was told that if he hopes to restore net neutrality, he will continue to nominate the FCC

The FCC needs a third Democrat-to fill five voting seats and break the tie. Before they vote again to illegally implement net neutrality and help large technology companies.

Or Biden can, you know, go through the constitutional legislative process.

How does net neutrality become a huge gift for large technology companies?

Want a cheaper internet?Big tech companies should pay their fair share:

“The history of the Internet is one of the big technology companies that consume huge bandwidth. They do not charge for the huge bandwidth they use.

“This means the history of the Internet-is one of our users paying more to subsidize the huge bandwidth usage of large technology companies…

“Net neutrality prohibits ISPs from charging large technology companies for bandwidth usage.”

But net neutrality is a clear unilateral policy requirement in Biden’s latest executive order.

It has greatly benefited from large technology giants. The largest and most anti-competitive company group in the history of the world.

Biden presented this huge crony gift to large-scale anti-competitive large-scale technology companies in the “competitive order.”

Because of course.
