Review: Treblab Z7 Pro Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Headphones are one of the most comfortable over-ear headphones I have used. But if the sound is just so-so, then there is no comfort in comfort, right? Haven’t tuned it out yet! I use Treblab Z7 Pro headphones to make calls and listen to a series of music. By the way, don’t be distracted by the relatively low cost. What is the brand name? Do these headphones accent the treble but not the bass? TREB-LAB or TRE-BLAB? I’m only sure how they sound, so let’s get started.

What is it

Treblab Z7 Pro hybrid active noise-canceling headphones are over-ear, comfortable, rechargeable, noise-canceling headphones, suitable for wireless (Bluetooth) or wired use. For most of this review, I will refer to this headset as “Z7” for the sake of simplicity.

Design and features

This part is well introduced in the hardware specifications, but I want to add that the Z7 should be an excellent exercise headset with an IPX4 rating. IPX4 means it can resist water splashes from any direction. I will wipe off my Z7 after a sweaty workout, but I don’t think there will be any problems with slight moisture exposure. The rating should make the Z7 suitable for running or cycling in light rain. No, not riding a bicycle. You need to wear a helmet! If you use Z7 for running, can I suggest “transparent mode” so that you can hear the necessary external sounds for optimal safety?

Installation and setup

I fully charged the Z7 and pressed the pairing button on the right earpiece to pair the headset with the phone. After about a minute, the process was completed and I was ready to listen to some songs.

Test and observe

control
I really like the minimalist method of headset control. Treblab Z7 performed well in this regard. There is a slender rubber “stick” control on the right earpiece. The bar is in its center for power on/off, ANC on/off or “transparent” mode, by pressing the top, and Bluetooth pairing and a long press at the bottom of the bar.

Increase and decrease the volume by sliding your finger up or down on the flat leather-covered exterior of the right earpiece. I really like this control method instead of trying to get my fingers to find a small button on a certain edge of the headset.

Use the same touch control surface on the right earpiece to answer or end the call. Double-click to answer, double-click to end the call.

When I put on the Z7 for the first time, I had the same reaction. Comfort, I repeat here!

Weight/comfort
Z7 does not cause “headphone fatigue” during long calls, and some are on the earmuffs. This is achieved by being lightweight and having the super soft earpiece pad on the Z7.

telephone
Unfortunately, I called and asked the person who evaluated my voice to report my voice as “OK” or “Medium Quality”. When talking with my wife through Z7, I asked her to rate the voice quality, then I turned off the headset and continued our conversation on the phone. She said that my voice quality is better through the phone itself.

During my testing of the Z7, I called a radio talk show and later listened to myself on the show’s podcast. Sadly, my voice quality is not very good either. (This is my major breakthrough.)

I don’t know why the Z7 phone is a challenge, or does my phone make any negative contributions?

As a final test, I used the Z7 to record for one minute through the recording app on my phone. The sound is crisp and clear during playback. Bluetooth transmits voice audio to my mobile phone via Z7, just like making a call, so I shrugged.

music
I listened to various music and found that Treblab Z7 can accurately reproduce rock, classical and jazz. I always try to listen to the part of a particular instrument and performer that I listened to last time. If there is any omission, it is a “ding” in the quality assessment. For these ears, Z7 performs well. Try Fleetwood Mac’s’Gypsy’ and’Rhiannon’ as your audio listening tests. There are a lot of treble, bass and vocals to listen to. The Z7 clearly delivered the kick drum and electric bass sound, and the top hat, cymbal and snare drum sound were also very good.

Multipoint connection
You can connect two devices at the same time, such as a mobile phone and a laptop. Input can only come from one device at a time, but you can seamlessly switch from one device to another without having to pair the devices again. You may be participating in an online conference call, hear the phone ring and switch to answer the call.

Noise reduction
The ANC mode does reduce the external sound level, but when my Chromebook speakers are playing radio stations, I can hear every word of the talk show when I wear the Z7 with ANC turned on (no audio is played through them). The ANC on the Z7 reduces external sounds, but don’t expect these to be safe hearing protection during target shooting or gouge.

what do I like

  • Balanced sound, no need to tune treble or bass
  • Did I mention that they are comfortable?
  • Preferential price
  • L and R are printed on the inner earpiece.
  • Simple responsive control

What will i change

  • Not the best phone microphone performance. Can firmware updates bring improvements?

Final thoughts

If you need high-quality vocal reproduction of headphones, include it in your purchasing decision. If your main focus is on music or other audio listening, then Treblab Z7 Pro headphones are likely for you. If you are satisfied with the medium-quality voice transmission in calls and meetings, you can still consider using this package. Z7 Pro is never tired to use (comfortable again) and reproduces various music styles and voice audio very well.
