Wilson, Switzerland raises European record by 100 meters-reserved

DOn Sunday, Swiss Alex Wilson ran the 100 meters in 9.84 seconds at the non-International Track and Field Games held in Marietta, USA. This time a new European record will be set, but this confirmation has raised doubts.

The International Federation recorded his time, but many observers emphasized the controversial nature of this situation. “We are 100% aware that this is impossible,” the respected American coach Rana Reider wrote on Twitter. The meeting also expressed doubts about whether the so-called startup information system was used.

The 30-year-old Wilson completed his time with a tailwind of 1.9 meters per second in the preparation training camp for the Summer Olympics that started on Friday. Soon after, he won the 200 meters with a Swiss record time of 19.89 seconds (1.8 m/s). Swiss Blick reported the “record flood”.

Until Sunday, Wilson’s personal 100m best time was 10.08 seconds, and this season the Jamaican native’s best time so far was 10.38 seconds.

The recognized European record is 9.86 seconds, held by the Portuguese Francis Obikveiro and the French Jimmy Vikau. The European Athletics Association will be responsible for verifying Wilson’s European record.
