Review – Are you creative lighting? Do you also like to build things with Lego bricks? If the answer to both questions is “yes”, then please continue reading! Lego lovers at WLWYB (we like what you build) came up with an interesting USB powered functional light, made of Lego blocks. let’s see!
What is it?
WLWYB’s ambient light Lego letter light is a USB-powered LED light with the letter shape of your choice. It is assembled using real Lego bricks, available in assembled or unassembled forms, you can use it to assemble.
What’s in the box?

- Letter lamp with USB-A cable

- Various funny Lego themed stickers
Hardware specifications
- Size: 8.25″hx 7.25″wx 1.125″d
- Weight: 10.5oz (varies slightly according to the letter)
- Material: brand new genuine Lego bricks, translucent front screen, white cardboard backing
- Color: white with black trim
- Light source: warm white LED panel, USB=power supply
- Power cord: 39″ USB-A
Design and features

WLWYB provides 26 different lights, one for each letter. I received the letter “K”. If you want the fun of assembling by yourself, you can choose to receive the assembled lamp, just like the one I received, or unassembled at a discount of $10.
This is the back of the lamp. You can clearly see the back of the Lego bricks used to assemble the lamp.

The back is covered with white cardboard material. It almost completely blocks the light from the back of the lamp. You can see that the attached LED panel has LEDs on the periphery of the shape.

The power cord extends from the bottom corner of the lamp.

The front is covered with translucent material.

This material diffuses the warm white LED light well, so you cannot see the hot spots where each LED is installed.

When taking the photo below, I noticed a slight gap on the back of the top of the letter.

If you look closely, you will find that the back does not fit well. It can be easily solved with a little glue, or remove a few bricks and trim the back.

Here you can see a close-up of the black trim used to outline the letters.

If you suspect that this is assembled from real Lego bricks, I will pop up a decorative piece.

Yes-Lego bricks, all right!
Performance

In short, this is a cool little accent light. The light it produces is a beautiful warm white that is pleasing to the eye and should look good in most decorations. Assuming you believe what you see on HGTV, writing your last name somewhere in your home is a recent trend.
Two things I can see may need improvement.
- Like many other companies today, they count on you to use your own USB power supply
- There is no power switch, so you have to plug/unplug the light to turn it on/off
what do I like
- Cool design, especially if you like Lego bricks
- The black and white design looks very clean
- The light output is great for accent lighting-not too bright, but enough to attract attention
What will i change
- The fit and finish can be improved, although DYIers may like to fix it
- The assembled version is priced at $59.95, I want to include the power supply
- The power switch will be fine
Final thoughts
The WLWYB ambient light is a neat little accent light that looks great on the bookshelf. I like automation, so for me, I will have to invest in this work. I need a USB power source-I might have one in the drawer, and I need a smart plug so I can use automation to turn it on and off. For Lego people, I believe that the unassembled version of Spring will bring a happy hour, assembling and lighting up your own Lego letter lights, and saving you 10 dollars at the same time.
Price: $49.99 unassembled, $59.99 assembled
Where to buy: always
