review – Since everyone reading my review knows I’m remodeling a basement, I won’t go into the details. As everyone already knows, I believe in having every tool I need for the job, so I have a fairly wide selection of tools to match with my DIY project and tasks. I’m currently building the part of my interior bar and I’m using this beautiful pine I found along with screws with hex nut heads to mount the wood to the metal studs to create my rustic look concept. To do this properly I had to drill pilot holes and then screw in the hex screws. It’s a tedious process as I usually have to use 2 drivers and switch between them, from drill bits to hex screw bits. Well, it’s not boring anymore. Enter the Worx Nitro 20V Brushless Switch Driver 2.0 2-in-1 Cordless Drill and Driver! !

Performance

The first thing I did was check the level of the included battery and fully charge it.

I’m testing this Switchdriver on my current DIY project, which is building a bar in my basement. Since I’m using metal studs and need to mount the wood face to the studs, I want to drill a pilot hole for each hex screw and screw it in. Doing this task with this device is a fantastic experience and probably saves me at least 50% of the time it would take if I had to use two drivers. Once I set the torque level I need, there is plenty of torque and it works really well. The only problem I had was that the Switchdriver kept going when the screws were tightened, initially spraining my wrist. I adjusted accordingly.

The photo below shows the wooden surface of the bar with the built-in fireplace, which I attached to the metal studs using this tool. This is my rustic concept, so I wanted the look and feel that the visible head of the hex screw provides.

  • it provides plenty of torque

final thoughts

I tested a few before tool and love them. The Worx Nitro 20V Brushless Switch Driver 2.0 2-in-1 Cordless Drill and Driver is no exception, and honestly, it was the first tool I used as I continued to remodel my basement. The ability to drill a hole and then simply flip the head and drive a screw or nut is irreplaceable. The fact that it has a quick release collet makes changing bits quick and easy. IMHO, this tool is a winner. I give it a well done and two thumbs up!
