Review: There is nothing in this world that is harder to find than the perfect keyboard. When you find “that,” you stick with it with a loyalty normally reserved only for dogs and cola-flavored soft drinks. For me and my desktop, that’s the Logitech G-915 Wireless Mechanical. I’m still looking for my tablet though, which brings us to the Dierya DK61E mechanical keyboard. Is it this one? Let’s find out…
What is it?
Dierya DK61E is wired mechanical keyboard It uses 60% of the form factor. Basically, it’s a full-size keyboard with almost no number pad. This particular keyboard is backlit (colors and patterns can be changed by the keyboard itself, not the software), and it’s pretty lightweight considering everything is housed in an aluminum frame. It uses Gateron switches (some of the highest performing switches at a reasonable price) and is available in blue, brown, red, silver and yellow switch sets – the color of the switch set will determine your keypan experience, blue is almost the Silent yellow clicks. My review keyboard uses brown switches, which is a fair compromise in the Clack department.

How does it work?
Plug the USB-C end of the cable into the port on the back of the keyboard. Insert the reversible USB-A plug into any standard USB port on your computer. Since I wanted to use it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, I replaced the standard USB-C to C cable and plugged it into the tablet. I’ve also plugged it into my laptop, and in both cases, there’s no need to install drivers or download extra software. Plug and play. simple.
Is that the one?
The Dierya DK61E mechanical keyboard offers a great typing experience – great key travel allows me to type at almost full speed, and just enough for my mechanical keyboard fix without my wife wanting to beat my keyboard with her head and shoulders. For wired scenarios, I can’t recommend this keyboard enough. In fact, I have it hooked up to my home theater computer and couldn’t be happier about it.
The only thing I found odd was the cable that Dierya chose to include. I hadn’t seen a reversible USB-A cable before, so I was confused until I did some research and learned how to use the other end of the USB-C plug. Basically, it works no matter which way you plug it into the USB-A port. However, I find it odd that in an increasingly USB-C-centric world, Dierya doesn’t include a C-to-C cable.
Is this “that”? Almost, but not quite, this has nothing to do with keybana.A better use case for me is as my permanent resident Ergotron Mobile Sit/Station and mine Satechi Tablet StandPlugging into this tablet hub means I always have a great keyboard that’s always ready when I take my tablet to work. I want bluetooth when I travel, and I used to think backlit mechanical wireless keyboards were as mythical as unicorns or Elon Musk. Turns out, when I was looking around on the Dierya site for info on the DK61E, I came across the DK63, which ticked all the boxes. So maybe the DK61E wasn’t “the one”, but she introduced me to her wireless sister, which was important.
With this analogy, you can understand why my therapist uses speed dial.

- Almost everything – build quality, keyboard performance, lighting effects, low volume (for mechanical keyboards)
- The size and weight are perfect for travel
what would i change
- Includes USB-C to C cable
- In the description it is mentioned that the supplied cable has a bidirectional USB-A plug (to stop someone like me spending an hour down that particular rabbit hole)
