Review -Recently I had the honor to test and review a heated vest. As I mentioned in that review, after many years of living in New York, my body doesn’t seem to like the cold anymore, and I am no longer brave enough to venture into the cold without any cover to get warm. So, I obviously seized the opportunity to review this iHood heated vest with a retractable hood. Since I learned that there are very few cases where 2 garments from 2 different manufacturers have the same look, feel and working principle, I am curious about this out-of-the-box garment. Let’s see! !
What is it?
The iHood heating vest with retractable hood is designed with heating elements, made of composite carbon fiber, with high-density heating and overheating protection. It has 8 heating zones, including the front chest, back, collar and hood, which can reach 160°F, work for up to 10 hours, and can be heated at a high temperature of 160°F for 3 hours, and at a medium temperature of 145°F It can be heated for 5 hours and 135°F for 10 hours.

This vest is beautifully packaged with a fluffy jacket design, with a power control device in the upper right chest area, and 2 inner pockets, including a pocket for storing batteries on the left. There is a hoodie pocket with zipper on the top of the jacket.
There are 2 pockets inside. One time for the battery, the other time as a utility pocket. The battery has 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C port and 1 micro USB port. In the battery bag, there is a USB cable.
The size and care labels are located on the top back of the neck area on the inside of the vest
Performance
The first thing I did was charge the battery that came with it.
The photo below shows the color change of the button control because you selected the heating position on the jacket and the degree of heating you want.
This jacket is very comfortable to wear. So much so that my wife has now let me get rid of it. She likes the choice of warm zone, including the ability to heat the hoodie. This material is very soft, in my opinion, if it accidentally hooks on something, it may tear easily. I hope this will never happen. The only problem I have repeatedly encountered is that when the vest is closed for a period of time, it will not reopen unless I first unplug the battery and then reinsert it. Sometimes I have to do this more than once. This may be a QC problem related to a small number of vest samples, not common, but worth mentioning. The size of the vest is correct, but due to its fluffy design, it may only be used as a jacket and cannot be worn comfortably under the jacket.
Overall, this is a good value, especially since the prices of other products that I own and use are 3 times this price.

Final thoughts
I tested this vest several times, but that was because my wife took over it. She likes it, especially because it keeps her warm, including the cry. Compared to my other heated vests, I think the materials and appearance are a bit “cheesy”. But that doesn’t have a heating mantle like this. In the end, IMHO, it “done well” and after several quality checks, it could get two thumbs up! !
