The emergency services said the son of former Chelsea midfielder and German captain Michael Ballack was killed in a quad bike accident in Portugal.
According to local media reports, 18-year-old Emilio Ballack was driving the car on land owned by his father in Tróia, a peninsula about an hour south of Lisbon. The accident happened just after 2 am, and firefighters tried to rescue him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Portuguese media reported that the teenager was riding on uneven ground near Barak’s home when the bicycle rolled backwards and landed on him.
