Crowdfunding News – MacBook users want to learn more about the great technology in the XFANIC USB4 13-in-1 hub, which is currently seeking funding crowdfunding.

What is it?

The XFANIC USB4 13-in-1 Hub is a small desktop USB hub that includes everything but the kitchen sink. This hub can handle 3 MacBook expansion monitors, including an 8K monitor (Pro). It also works on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and iPad OS. There are two versions of the XFANIC hub.

Basic Edition: The USB4 Hub Basic has 14 ports, namely USB4, USBC, 2xUSBA 2.0, 2xUSBA 3.0, HDMI2.0, 2xDisplay1.2, AUX, RJ45, SD/TF, PD and DC.

Professional Edition: The USB4 Hub Pro has 13 ports, namely USB4, USBC, 2xUSBA 3.2, HDMI2.0, HDMI 2.1, Display1.2, AUX, RJ45, SD/TF, PD and DC. USB4 Hub Pro supports SSD, 8K and macOS MST.

Note that if you have a Mac, the hub requires the DisplayLink driver to be installed. If you have Windows, the driver will be installed automatically through Windows Update.

why do i like it?

I love all the ports including the flash card reader but the fact that this hub can drive 3 monitors is impressive and you can even add an SSD under the hub’s magnetic cover to add more to your computer memory/storage space.

XFANTIC sent me a prototype to check out and it’s really good. I don’t have an 8K monitor, I don’t have an extra monitor to test it, and I don’t have an SSD, but it works fine on my 49″ DELL monitor and my 2020 13″ MacBook Pro M1.

Where can I find more information?

The XFANTIC campaign ended on 2/17/22 and they have more than doubled their funding goal of $10,000. You can pre-order the XFANTIC USB hub starting at $249 (basic). Rewards are expected to start shipping in April 2022 following the conclusion of the XFANTIC USB Hub campaign.visit their crowdfunding page for all the details.
